Facts
That Matter, Inc.
Among the varied projects that Facts That
Matter produces are best-sellers, coffee-table books, and
special interest references. Books that have media ties-ins
are emphasized, including those that are likely to receive
attention from broadcasters, newspapers, and magazines. Subjects
include history, popular reference, sports, movies, business,
“infotainment,” popular culture, self-improvement, how-to,
and contemporary issues. The company also produces documentaries
based on books, including its own titles. Many have appeared
on national television. “Staying power” is emphasized; that
is, we focus on books that can be periodically updated and
rereleased. Some of the company’s titles have been continuously
published for over fifteen years. The company has several
primary functions: developing books for media, publishers,
and authors, as well as creating books from scratch that emerge
from developing concepts. Services include research and development
of manuscripts, placement with major publishers of all kinds,
and all phases of book development from writing, research,
and editing to contracting and supervising print production.
Mr. Krantz frequently acts as the editor-in-chief while supervising
a staff of approximately twenty outside writers and editors.
Perhaps because of the nature of their subjects, many Facts
That Matter books have captured the imagination of the media,
culminating in front-page articles and segments on network
television. The firm’s books have been the subject of articles
and television commentaries in programs as diverse as The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, The Today
Show, The CBS Morning News, CNN, and publications such as
Time, Playboy, Sports Illustrated, Glamour, the New York Times,
and hundreds of other media.
