The ABPA sponsors activities and events for both members and the larger publishing community. These include:
- Luncheon and Evening Events Forums for networking and discussion feature guest speakers (acquiring editors, publishers, and newsmakers) and provide expert insight into current trends in publishing. These events are held at Manhattan restaurants.
- Brown Bag Lunches Bring-your-own-lunch sessions serve as educational forums on topics of practical interest to book producers and other publishing professionals. Small groups offer participants a chance to informally exchange ideas and information.
- Seminars Educational gatherings bring together industry leaders and newsmakers, providing practical information, the inside scoop on industry trends, inspiration, and new connections.

Tuesday, December 6: Discuss books on demand with Jon Fine (Director of Author & Publisher Relations, Amazon)
Wednesday, January 11: Discuss how to get buzz going for your digital books and apps with Jim Hanas (Director of Social Media, Sonnet Media)
Tuesday, February 7: Discuss the business of e-readers with Lisa Faith Phillips (Director of Digital Strategy and Development, Hachette Book Group)
Wednesday, April 11: Adult Acquiring Editor Panel (panelists to be announced)
Tuesday, May 1: Discuss the challenges today in creating book plus and kits with Jim Becker (Founder, becker&mayer!)
Time and Place: Each session will run from 12:30–2 p.m. and takes place at In Good Company WorkPlaces, 16 West 23rd Street, Fourth Floor. The fee for each lunch session is $10 ($20 for non-members). Register by phone, 917.741.1919, or by email.
